These rules apply at every Steamoji BelRed+ location. They exist to ensure the safety and success of all of our Apprentices.
Wear close-toed shoes at all times in the workshop. (We recommend avoiding slip-on shoes for safety.)
Keep hair and clothing secure when using equipment—long hair tied back, loose sleeves tucked in.
Follow posted safety signs, like “Do Not Touch” signs on 3D printers.
Ask a Facilitator for help with tools:
Apprentices under 8 must ask for assistance with hot glue guns and the ChompSaw.
Apprentices between 8 and 10 must complete a Facilitator evaluation to use the hot glue guns and ChompSaw.
Restricted tools (such as soldering irons and hand drills) may only be used with Facilitator approval.
Always listen carefully to Facilitators, especially during safety instructions.
Sit properly at your workstation—keep your chair on the ground and avoid climbing on tables or standing on chairs.
Take care of tools, materials, and projects—your own and others’.
Keep your workspace clean and return materials when you’re finished.
You may bring a watertight water bottle to keep at your workstation. Nut-free snacks are welcome too—just make sure to keep things tidy and clean up after yourself.
Use inside voices so everyone can focus.
Don’t distract other Apprentices from their own work.
Raise your hand to ask for help if you’re stuck or unsure—that’s what Facilitators are here for!
Following the rules helps you earn bonus Oji Coins.
Breaking rules may mean missing out on bonus Oji Coins.
Breaking safety rules (e.g., not wearing shoes, touching the 3D printers without permission) may result in losing workshop privileges.
We’re here to support you as you learn, make, and create. Remember—if you’re ever unsure, always ask a Facilitator for help!
